Mounting of a snap ring onto an idle gear reduces vibration and noise.
Scissors gears reduce vibration and noise from the sound generated by the tooth beating in a pair of gears. An important part realizing that effect (backlash zero) is the torsion ring. The optimum design for uniform stress is performed by the CAE analysis.
