Corporate history

December 1913
The Murata Hardware Store was founded and opened in Sanjo-machi, Utsunomiya-shi, Tochigi.
November 1943
Murata Spring Co., Ltd., was incorporated and headquartered in Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
December 1945
A factory was newly established in Hanabusa-cho, Utsunomiya-shi.
March 1967
A 33,000 square meter lot in Hiraide Industrial Park, Utsunomiya-shi, was purchased as a factory site. A wire spring factory was newly established in November 1968.
August 1973
The head office was relocated from Hanabusa-cho to Hiraide Industrial Park to integrate with the factory.
December 1981
The Osaka Sales Office was established in Nishi-nakajima, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka-shi (and later relocated to its current location, Ikeda, Neyagawa-shi, Osaka).
August 1984
The Technical Center was newly opened at the Headquarters site.
November 1986
MSC received the Academic Award for the development of oval section springs from the Research Committee for Small Springs Spring Technology (now the Japan Society of Spring Engineers [JSSE)).
July 1987
American MSC was established in Michigan, U.S.A.
June 1991
The aircraft parts factory was newly established in Ujiie-cho (now Sakura-shi), Tochigi.
June 1992
The aircraft parts factory was spun off as an independent subsidiary named ACM Tochigi Co., Ltd.
November 1998
The Valve Spring Department acquired ISO 9001 certification.
November 1999
All departments became ISO 9001 certified for the entire line of products.
May 2001
MST Co., Ltd., was established in Mizuho, Utsunomiya-shi.
September 2003
MSC became ISO 14001 certified.
April 2006
MSC received the METI Minister's commendation as one of the "Top 300 Medium and Small Enterprises Active in Manufacturing."
April 2006
MST Co., Ltd., opened its new head office and factory in Shioya-Cho and resumed operation.
July 2008
ACM Tochigi Co., Ltd., expanded its Shioya factory (by 2,200 m2).
September 2008
The MST Shioya factory expanded by 1,618 m2 (490 tsubo) and resumed operation.
November 2010
MSC received the JSSE Technical Award for the development of ultrasonic vibration assisted helical spring manufacturing technology.
March 2011
Murata Spring (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., was established in China.
April 2011
The company received the JPO Commissioner's commendation as one of the "Excellent Enterprises Active in the Industrial Property Rights System."
